Toyota Prado 3.0 Upgrades: The Toyota Prado uses the Toyota 3.0 litre, four-cylinder diesel engine with a factory average power of 300 nm of torque and only 125hp at the wheels. This leaves a lot to be desired for the power of your diesel UTE.
This can be resolved with Just Auto’s Toyota Prado 3.0 Upgrade packages, which can be tailored to your performance needs.
This package can vary depending on model and transmission fitted to the vehicle but, on average, you will see around a 50% gain in torque at the wheels. Prados with a manual transmission will need a heavy-duty clutch replacement, while an automatic transmission model will benefit from having an upgraded valve body to help with shifting between gears, which is indecisive in the A350 and A750 transmission fitted to the Prado models.
This package is designed for the tourer in mind. A grunter turbo and 30% injectors low down torque is what this package is designed for. Usual figures start pushing around 220hp and 550nm, which starts to rival the torque and power of some of the larger Toyota models.
This package expands on the foundations of Package 2 and targets car owners looking to get as much power out of their vehicle as possible. This package usually includes stage 2 or 3 GTurbo, depending on transmission fitted to the vehicle and with power output figure on average around 250hp and 650-700nm.

A custom ECU remap on the 3.0 Toyota Prado can achieve considerable gains in torque while still retaining all factory components and, on average, should deliver around 40-50% gains in torque. More torque can be achieved by upgrading to a custom package, which could include upgraded turbos and intercoolers.
From the factory at Toyota, your 3.0 diesel Toyota Prado produces on average 320 nm of torque and 125hp at the wheels. This is based on our experience when having Prados on our dyno (do note results vary in AWD).
Based off of Package 1, we see a sizeable increase to 450nm of torque and 175hp for your Prado on average.

30% Injectors can be custom-built in-house to achieve the fuelling required when upgrading your Toyota Prado 3.0 to your desired outcome. Most models will require 30% injectors when upgrading the vehicle factory-fitted turbo.
The A340 transmission and A750 transmission that the Toyota Prado 3.0 comes factory-fitted with, is known to be quite an indecisive gearbox and hesitates between gear changes. Just Autos has a range up upgraded valve bodies which can increase internal pressure inside the gearbox to not only help with shifting between gears but which also reduce slip between gear changes to improve reliability.
The factory-fitted clutch on the 3.0 engine is known to fail and slip, but when implementing any of Just Autos custom upgrade packages, the factory clutch will need to be upgraded. We recommend fitting an NPOC heavy duty clutch to handle the added gain in torque.
